A Spotlight on the Scriptures
Description

This is a spotlight on the Scriptures: Praise the LORD because he is good. His faithful love will last forever. Praise the God of gods! His faithful love will last forever. Praise the Lord of lords! His faithful love will last forever. Praise him who alone does wonderful miracles! His faithful love will last forever. Psalms 136: 1-4

This psalm celebrates the faithful love of God. Every verse in this psalm mentions the faithfulness of God. It promotes God's faithfulness.

In 1 Corinthians 1:9 Paul said God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. God is faithful.” Men are not always faithful. Even believers are not always faithful. But God is faithful. A co-worker came to me to tell me about a sin he committed, he asks, “Do you think God will forgive me?” Beloved, God is faithful, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9) So my question to him was, have you called on Him? If you really want forgiveness, He will give it to you. He deals with us according to His mercy. Please notice that every verse has this appeal: “His faithful love will last forever.” Beloved his faithful love, is ever the same, it never changes; it is never fatigued.

Let the young and old, the rich and poor, let the educated and the uneducated, let the saved and unsaved, take part in giving thanks. Let us bless God for our eyes, with which we behold the sun, for our health and strength, to walk back and forth in the sunlight; let us praise Him for the mercies which are new every morning, for the bread we eat; let us bless Him that we are not destitute, of our reasoning , or stretched upon the bed of suffering; let us praise Him that we are not cast out among the hopeless, or kept amongst the guilty; let us thank Him for liberty, for friends;  for the church, let us praise Him, in fact, for everything which we receive from His graces  hand, for we deserve little, or nothing, and yet we are most bountifully blessed. It is said that the priest would sing each verse, of this Psalm and the congregation would respond by singing this refrain: His faithful love will last forever. This is a spotlight on the Scriptures.
